The challenge: a continent at a crossroads

Africa faces rapid digital transformation and advances in artificial intelligence, without “a dedicated, independent pan-African institution capable of offering forward-looking governance”. Côte d'Ivoire suffers in particular from fragmented efforts across professional bodies and insufficient cross-sector collaboration.

The vision: an intellectual showcase for Africa

Leaders from civil society, professional bodies and industry associations created the African Institute of Governance and Management as an “intellectual showcase” — an adaptable platform where sector-based Chairs drive the creation of knowledge. Each Chair benefits from co-funding and shared governance with sector partners.

AIGM's threefold mission:

• Produce knowledge through academic research and public-policy briefs
• Train practitioners through executive education and certifications
• Drive public debate through conferences and seminars

The institution operates at pan-African scale, based in Côte d'Ivoire to limit political risk and strengthen continental partnerships.

The solution: multi-stakeholder governance

AIGM's governance rests on three pillars:

1. Civil society (civic legitimacy)
2. Institutional design expertise (MORIM LTD, strategic direction)
3. Professional authorities and industry leaders (practical relevance)

This architecture comprises a Board of Directors, an International Scientific Committee and an Executive Direction.

MORIM provides executive direction, contributing strategic design, academic engineering, positioning strategy and network activation to establish AIGM as a leading continental institution.
